Wildlife Crime Bulletin 2020 Issue I
The latest Wildlife Crime Bulletin (WCB) has been released by ENV’s Policy & Legislation team. This document is produced twice a year to update law enforcement on wildlife laws in Vietnam, providing guidance and giving credit to outstanding agencies, officers, courts, judges, prosecutors and procuracies who went above and beyond to protect wildlife.
This issue includes wildlife crime highlights such as:
- The efficiency of wildlife prosecutions between 2018 and 2019, after the enactment of Vietnam’s revised Penal Code.
- Internet wildlife crimes
- Large-volume shipments of wildlife with “legal” papers
- A guidance on handling confiscated wild animals
- A roundup of ENV Wildlife Crime Unit success in 2019
